Stella Dog Creations

Jo Ann Kilgroe

I started sewing as a young girl when I used to spend about one month every summer with my Aunt Evelyn. Sewing was something special we tried to do everyday.

In 1975, pregnant with my first child, I wanted to make a baby quilt. So I signed up for a quilting class with a local teacher and I have been quilting ever since. From that date until now I have made more quilts and quilted projects than I can count - for myself, my family and friends, and for charity.

I am very active in my quilt guild and have been on the planning team for over seven years where I share my skills by teaching, giving demonstrations, and designing our Block of the Months. In 2008, I decided to enter a quilt in the state guild's annual show. It placed first in its category and from there I have entered more quilts and won more ribbons.

In 2010, I decided to create a zippered handbag pattern. I had made many handbags but none with a zippered closing. I wanted the security of a zippered bag and I also wanted an easy zipper installation.

So I created my company, Stella Dog Creations, and started creating patterns. My patterns have been very well received. I believe you will truly enjoy my patterns. I have been told numerous times from quilt shop owners "the ladies just love your patterns". I hope you will too!
